Real Groups Transitive on Complex Flag Manifolds

چکیده
Let Z = G/Q be a complex flag manifold. The compact real form Gu of G is transitive on Z. If G0 is a noncompact real form, such transitivity is rare but occasionally happens. Here we work out a complete list of Lie subgroups of G transitive on Z and pick out the cases that are noncompact

Steepest descent on real flag manifolds
Among the compact homogeneous spaces, a very distinguished subclass is formed by the (generalized) real flag manifolds which by definition are the orbits of the isotropy representations of Riemannian symmetric spaces (sorbits). This class contains most compact symmetric spaces (e.g. all hermitian ones), all classical flag manifolds over real, complex and quaternionic vector spaces, all adjoint ...
متن کاملAdmissible Representations and Geometry of Flag Manifolds
We describe geometric realizations for various classes of admissible representations of reductive Lie groups. The representations occur on partially holomorphic cohomology spaces corresponding to partially holomorphic homogeneous vector bundles over real group orbits in complex flag manifolds. The representations in question include standard tempered and limits of standard tempered representati...
متن کاملOn the Number of Control Sets on Flag Manifolds of the Real Simple Lie Groups
In this paper we determine upper bounds for the number of control sets on flag manifolds of a real non-compact simple Lie group whose Lie algebra is a real form of a complex simple Lie algebra. The estimates for the number of control sets are based on the results of San Martin and Tonelli [6]. They are determined by computing the orbits of a subgroup of the Weyl Group.
متن کاملFlag-transitive Point-primitive symmetric designs and three dimensional projective special linear groups
The main aim of this article is to study (v,k,λ)-symmetric designs admitting a flag-transitive and point-primitive automorphism group G whose socle is PSL(3,q). We indeed show that the only possible design satisfying these conditions is a Desarguesian projective plane PG(2,q) and G > PSL(3,q).
متن کاملLocally homogeneous finitely nondegenerate CR-manifolds
In several areas of mathematics, homogeneous spaces are fundamental objects as they often serve as models for more general objects: Various examples from differential geometry (Riemannian symmetric spaces, principal bundles) and topology (geometric 3-manifolds), to algebraic and complex geometry (uniformization theorems, flag manifolds) etc. underline the importance of spaces, furnished with a ...
